Folk music has found its way into a mainstream audience and Colombia’s folk music is no exception. A perfect example is the Vallenato rhythm represented by the song “La Gota Fría”, which was written and performed by Emiliano Zuleta and later turned into a major hit by pop singer Carlos Vives. Another is the Cumbia with “La Pollera Colora” composed and interpreted by Wilson Choperena perhaps considered one of this genre’s anthems. A Night In… Colombia emanates an array of musical styles and folkloric rhythms. This collection includes performances by such artists as: Diomedes Diaz, Leonor Gonzalez mina, Pacho Galan, Wilson Choperena, and so many more.
